On  December  23,  2006  has ended first  championship of Chicago Lithuanian Volleyball League organized by Mindaugas Jankūnas and "Vytis" sport club. It showed the rising popularity of this  sport  among  American  Lithuanians. Consequently, the decision was made to establish American Lithuanian Volleyball League.

These teams participated in first Chicago Lithuanian Volleyball Championship:

4. Panevėžys
5. Gubernija
6. Šiauriniai
7. Šiauliai
8. Kalnapilis
